The past few weeks have been busy for me, as my semester ends soon (not soon enough, but there is nothing I can do about this!). I have lot of papers due next week, so I spend most of my time in front of my computer. When I’m not studying I am riding my bike, obviously! The weather has been really nice here in Montreal so I have been able to take my bike outside for the first time at home last week, the winter is finally gone !
Last week, the school organized a yoga session so I went with my boyfriend (he took the picture !!). It was a nice activity to release all the stress from my classes.
Also, today marked the first race of the season! Ariane, Catherine and I went to the GP Contrecoeur, a place just outside of Montreal. We had a solid race, as we were leading the race. We tried to break the peleton by doing echelon at the front in a cross wind stretch. A lot of people got dropped because of that, but we were not able to make a real separation. We then tried attacking one after another, and we were able to create some little breakaways. Unfortunatly, the pack was always getting back together. With one lap (out of 5) to go, we decided that we would go for the sprint, with Ariane and Cath having a good sprint. I try to do a flyer in the last km, but it didn’t really work. Ariane won the sprint field, with Cath sprinting for fourth and I for tenth. It was a really nice opening to the race season and I would say that we are all excited to go to North Carolina for Speedweek !
